External Candidate Referral Programs

I have been on checking out Bohire as well. I love the concept - however, I think only time will tell the quality of candidates. The referrals net a much more narrow pool of candidates than job boards have for me, but at the same time, I've seen some of the same challenges as with an internal program - throw in everyone you know and see if something sticks to earn the bounty. My other concerns is that althouhg this is a relatively cost effective service, candidates who may have applied directly may now be more inclined to have someone submit a resume on their behalf so they can both share the referral fee.

In any case, I've been toying with this idea internally for quite some time, but now that the Bohire service is on the market, I am committed right now to continuing an evaluation of it for my recruiting needs.
