eluta - are the job boards really worried yet?

Week 2 - What's Hot in Recruitment

Perhaps my perspective is a tad narrow these days, but rarely do I see much in the way of recruitment technology that I really think has the potential to make a difference. eluta just may be the next big thing, the new facilitator of the online connection between job seekers and employers.

The eluta concept is a simple one. Make it easy for job seekers to connect directly with the best employers, then get out of the way! Described as "google" for job seekers, eluta brokers a direct connection between the job seeker and the employer, without the burden of signing in, creating a profile, or uploading a resume. eluta provides editorial comment from Canada's top 100, providing valuable insight into the culture and employment programs of the organization. The true power of eluta is it's ease and speed of use. How can that miss? I have to imagine that the job boards are worried about this venture, as eluta is threatening to cut out the middle man.

The eluta business model will undoubtedly take some time to unfold, as it is still an emerging technology and site. eluta has free indexing options for employers, which from my perspective is a no-brainer. Sign up, and see for yourself what type of traffic this site can generate for you. eluta also has several very affordable advertising options available for extra exposure that are worth trying out.

Next week - my thoughts on Applicant Tracking Systems. Stay tuned....

eluta.ca--Canada's search engine for jobs

My own feeling is that jobseekers today, especially as their careers evolve--are looking for a way to look at all the jobs in their field, quickly and easily, and then they'll apply for the ones that appeal to them, thanks very much. Today, the best candidates can really "shop" for a job, and choose the company that seems like the best fit.

Traditional job sites tend to have too much noise--too many third party jobs and not enough choice--burying the good opportunities. Eluta combines amazing variety, in both kinds of jobs and geographical location(made possible because there are no posting fees) with unique editorial made possible through the Canada's Top 100 Employers project--and gives the job seeker the information he or she needs to make an informed decision.

Traditional job sites invest millions of dollars on search engine advertising trying to keep job seekers on their sites, and it is effective.

But why not use Eluta's search engine marketing opportunity to drive qualified response through to your own career site, where you can deliver your own messages about working at your company.

As postings proliferate around the internet, freely available on craigslist and kijiji among others, future online recruiting success depends upon the story you tell on your corporate career site, and in driving enough qualified applicants to see it. Search engines drive traffic, and eluta.ca will drive more informed, more qualified traffic, especially for those who've read the editorial.

I believe it's the next generation in online recruiting.
